Description
UMS is seeking Laborers with a good work history to join our project team. A background or previous construction labor experience is required for this position and will require work outdoors in various weather conditions.
This role will also consist of being a Confined space attendant and a Canvasser.
The employee MUST wear the required PPE, which will be provided by the Company while performing these duties.

THE POSITION
As a Laborer, Confined space attendant and Canvasser you will be expected to perform the following day-to-day duties:
- Follow project instructions from Field Service Manager or Site Supervisor
- Monitor activities inside and outside the space to determine if it is safe for entrants to remain in the space, and alert them immediately if they need to evacuate.
- Knocking door to door to schedule Water Meter Installation appointments for customers
- Utilizing the company scheduling site (via a company-provided handheld device) to collect customer contact & appointment information
- Frequently stand, walk, use hands to feel and handle supplies and equipment; use hands and arms to reach, lift, etc.
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Maintain and follow required attire and grooming standards
- Follow UMS standards of safety, productivity, and quality of work
- Have clear written and verbal communication skills

In this position, you can expect to receive continuous feedback from your Supervisor, in an effort, to help you improve your performance and possibly move up to another field service position.
Qualifications
- Pass a drug screening and background check
- Valid Driver's License and Proof of Insurance
- Must meet age requirement of 25 years or older to drive.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend and stoop repetitively, and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Be able to perform various work functions that include physical efforts to handle materials
- Be able to work all required shifts
- Maintain reliability and dependability
- Assist with other activities when needed
- Be able to communicate professionally to customers
