Back Up Machine Operator - Second Shift

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team and is currently recruiting for a Back Up Machine Operator to work from our manufacturing facility located in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

As a Back Up Machine Operator, this candidate will substitute for Seasoning Operator, Packaging Machine Operator, and Lineman during breaks or when absent. This position will work on second shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Substitutes for seasoning operator during breaks or when seasoning operator is absent.
• Helps on load and offload seasoning to the decks.
• Set up and tear down of seasoners.
• Keeps seasoners running and makes adjustments as directed/needed.
• Lifts 20, 25, & 50 pound seasoning bags.
• Substitutes for lineman during breaks or when lineman is absent.
• Uses a hand jack/forklift to transport finished product to warehouse.
• Scans finished product in accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Assists packers by stacking trailer height skids when needed.
• Uses forklift/hand jack to re-fill packaging supplies throughout shift.
• Substitutes for machine operator during breaks or when the packaging machine operator is absent.
• Keeps packaging machine running.
• Changes packaging paper.
• Set up and tear down of machines.
• Checks and changes code tape.
• Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.

• Ability to lift 20-, 25- and 50-pound seasoning boxes and bags chest level entry.
• Ability to lift and handle all skid types. (Peco skid up to 70 lbs.).
• Forklift operator license.

• Ability to lift roll stock (80 lbs.) onto packaging machine chest level entry 1 to 2 hours.
