JOB TITLE:                       

Clinical Assistant Professor, Mental Health Chair – Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing (FWWSON)

JOB PURPOSE:   

Chair in Mental Health Nursing providing oversight in the integration of mental health into care delivery across programs. This is a 0.8 FTE position. The faculty position will also require a minimum of one day a week of advanced practice nursing for accreditation purposes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Promote and deliver community education and practice improvement to increase the quality and quantity of psychiatric mental health care into delivery systems across rural Wyoming (25%)
  • Including leadership of UW ECHO in Integrative Care: Primary Care Mental Health
• Facilitate curriculum development across programs in integrating mental health care into course work and practice settings (20%)
• Develop collaborations, with key stakeholders around the state to increase access to quality mental health care for individuals and systems (20%)
• Develop or continue a previous program of research/scholarship, with a focus on integrated behavioral health care and/or a specific interest in psychiatric mental health nursing (10%)
• Serve on FWWSON, College of Health Sciences, and University committees; as well as providing service in state-wide mental health policy and practice settings (5%)
• Maintain professional practice as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), with 0.2 FTE dedicated to clinical practice as a PMHNP (20%)

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Doctorate degree or PhD in nursing from an accredited institution
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) board certification
• Eligible for unencumbered PMHNP/RN licensure in Wyoming
• At least 2 years of experience as a PMHNP
• Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.

• Prior record of external advocacy for nursing education and the nursing profession
• Experience with education, training, and practice in the areas of mental health
• Commitment to integrating diversity and inclusion in academia
