POSITION SUMMARY:
Retrieves and assembles medical records and analyzes them for compliance with medical Staff Rules and Regulations and JCAHO standards. Determines physician record deficiencies and incomplete processing that impact re-credentialing, statistical compilation and cash flow. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Completion of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology course preferred.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Good interpersonal, communication, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills required. Ability to read, speak and understand English. Ability to file records using numeric or alphabetic system required. Familiarity with computers and ability to type 45 wpm. Ability to accurately work independently with minimal instructions. Ability to operate a variety of common office equipment. Successful completion of annual job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
