About The Role

As the Ganger Class 2, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Network Development, Assets & Maintenance Group.

Reporting to the Track Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising a team of 5 in the maintenance, repair, and renewal of the high priority 80km per hour track between St Arnaud - Speed.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Provide timely responses to emergencies associated with the replacement and renewal of track materials, i.e. sleepers, rail, ballasts, and fastenings.
• Lead and supervise teams while participate in repair and maintenance work. Always demonstrating a high level of safety and teamwork.
• Be available for on call emergencies and travel throughout the region on afternoon and night shift as required.

About You

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Hold a certificate 3 in Rail Infrastructure (Gangers Ticket)
• Have excellent communication skills and basic computer capabilities.
• The ability to lead and support a team.
• Current Driver’s Licence
