Summary
Under supervision of Quality Control Manager, the calibration technician will perform various testing and repairs on a variety of measurement and test equipment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Majority of work is performed in an environmentally controlled lab per ANSI/INCSL Z540.1.

Summary
Under supervision of Quality Control Manager, the calibration technician will perform various testing and repairs on a variety of measurement and test equipment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Process new devices into the calibration system, maintains an accurate record of all calibration requirements, calibrations, certifications, and the location of equipment always. Coordinates the calibration services with internal, and external sources.
- Check-in measurement test equipment when manufacturing and or QA drops off gages. Gages should be checked-in to the calibration system on arrival, then place on proper shelf.
- Records and tracks the location of all equipment in calibration. Controls the physical movement of equipment within and out of the Calibration Lab and makes location changes as necessary when transferred to a new location.
- Recalls equipment as necessary for Calibration and coordinates internal calibration of equipment with the Quality department.
- Performs calibration, testing, troubleshooting and repairs as necessary, data collection and report completion on a wide range of mechanical and test equipment.
- Use established internal procedures as well as industry standards, manufacturer procedures for the proper calibration and troubleshooting of mechanical measuring and test equipment.
- Completes required documentation to certify the verification and calibration of mechanical measuring and test equipment.
- Provides recommendations for improving calibration procedures.
- Self-manage time to obtain maximum efficiency.
- Follows company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Associates degree or equivalent certification(s) from a technical school and 3 years of work-related experience, or (5) years of work-related experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
- Strong understanding of Measurement Uncertainty and applied technical math.
- Strong understanding of base SI Units such as ampere, kelvin, and psi
- Must be able to perform common measurements such as 1) temperature, 2) pressure, 3) voltage/current/resistance, 4) torque, 5) flow, and 6) dimensional measurements.
- Knowledge of common specifications descriptions, such as 1) percent of full scale, 2) precent of range, 3) number of counts, 7) tolerances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, word, excel, outlook,
- Have ability to quickly adapt to other custom software platforms used in day-to-day calibration activities.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
