ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Cross functionality across all areas within the department
Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Managing and directing accounting needs with customers and vendors

Managing and directing accounting needs with customers and vendors
Ensure the timely reporting for all monthly financial information and assist in the monthly close
Merger and Acquisition knowledge
Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Apply a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Work with the retained accounting firm to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
Review all Accounts Payable entries and payments for accuracy
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and perform journal entries
Maintain an organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions
Mentor, train, support and perform back-up duties for other members of the accounting team
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate with all levels within the organization
Assist in the documentation and processing of AFE’s
Strong GL and JE skills
Performs other duties as assigned or required

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Accounting
Experience:
3 plus years of progressive experience in public or corporate accounting
Computer Skills:
Advanced experience in Microsoft Office. Ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate Excel knowledge using PivotTables, advanced functions, and SQL database interaction.

Experience with or thorough knowledge of variance analysis and month end closing activities Demonstrated ability to learn new duties in a fast-paced environment
