Valiant is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I, II or III for W-TRS. Potential locations could include: California, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, Korea and potential additional CONUS locations.
Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide maintenance support to a variety of aviation TADSS (such as UH-60 Black Hawk Electrical Trainer, UH-60 Black Hawk Maintenance Trainer (BHMT), Black Hawk T-700 Engine Trainer, AH-64D Environmental Control System Part Task Trainer-L11 (ECSPTT-L11), AH-64D Airframe, Engine, and Drive Train Systems Trainer-L6 (AEDST-L6), and CH-47 Chinook Helicopter Maintenance Trainer (CHMT))
Job Duties:
- Require that this mechanic: adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft trainer accessories, and performs maintenance checks and inspections
- Applies basic and advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents
- May provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians; Researches and selects repair parts needed
- Document all maintenance actions by inputting data into the ISTS
- May be required to support other devices and will be cross trained, as needed
Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
- Applies technical knowledge of electronics principals in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment operations
- Oversees routine periodic maintenance and repairs as needed on equipment
- Performs required documentation IAW established procedures
*Based on experience and qualifications applications will be sorted into an Aircraft Mechanic I, II or III.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as appropriate; Ability to perform duties in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind and rain) and at height.
- Willing to work a flexible workweek.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
- May be required to obtain Secret security clearance; This position may require travel to other installations and other WTRS locations throughout CONUS and OCONUS. (Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.)
- Must be able to gain access to military installation.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to trouble shoot basic electronics.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Minimum of 3 years of Aircraft experience in Unit or Intermediate Level Aviation maintenance required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Aircraft Mechanic I, II or III in the U.S Army or Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) experience highly desired
