Responsibilities
Engineers and administers all Korea Battle Simulation Center Training and Exercise Network (KTEN) enclaves in support of US-INDOPACOM, and USFK training events.
Manages and supervises the day-to-day operations of all LAN support functions for KTEN and the Combined Exercise Information System (CEIS).
Maintains and controls IP Address Management (IPAM) for both static and DHCP on all KTEN enclaves to include remote simulation center distribution for quality assurance and quality control network management procedures.
Establishes and enforces LAN use, operations policies, and repair and upgrade procedures for layer two and layer three network devices.
Establishes policies and procedures for LAN security to facilitate Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation and certification for all KTEN enclaves.
Enforces policies and procedures for LAN backup and disaster recovery procedures necessary for 24/7 operations.
Supervises the design, installation, operations and maintenance of the KBSC Knowledge Management and Enterprise Services for Combined Exercise Information System (CEIS) workstations and other peripherals.
Analyzes user requirements and selects the network approach to provide the requested services and most effective and efficient solution to ensure integrity and availability.
Ensures that system setup and programming meet the configuration requirements of the network design to support large, distributed network operations that require 99.999% availability standards.
Verifies that the installation of equipment is complete, and the equipment is fully functional prior to operational activation
Conducts pre-cutover and post cutover user acceptance tests.
Develops and conducts professional development training for Systems and Networking (SYSNET) users and staff as needed.
Establishes a configuration management program that documents evolutionary changes to LAN hardware, software, user accounts and file backups per organizations life-cycle management process.
Must be able to travel worldwide to attend simulation planning conference
Must be able to maintain equipment inventory and accountability
Assists in ALL other Technical Support Branch operation when required.

Resume qualifications
Education
Required
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Associate degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or seven years’ experience in networking working with Cisco switches, routers, and associated industry standard routing protocols
Desired
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
BA or BS degree in Computer Science or Information Management Systems or ten years’ experience in networking working with Cisco switches, routers, and associated industry standard routing protocols
Qualifications
Seven years’ experience working within appropriate Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards, Cisco switches and routers and associated industry standard routing protocols.
Two years’ experience with Government Open Systems Interconnection Profile (GOSIP)
Experience in complex layer two and layer three LAN design and engineering with redundant failover architecture, cable installation, integration, and management of up to one hundred and fifty devices.
Industry standard technical certifications for IAT Level II, IAW DOD BPP 05-PR-M-0002 and DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce and Management Program
Must have and maintain an active SECRET security clearance but TS/SCI desired.
Must be SOFA eligible.
