Junior Accountant (Hybrid)
** This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting**
Your Position Description:
The Staff Accountant will be part of the Accounting Team responsible for the General Ledger, A/P, Billings, Payroll, Costpoint Time Collection, Concur Accounts payable system and the maintenance of our Deltek Costpoint accounting software. This position will primarily be responsible for the Accounts Payable function and must be knowledgeable of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Cost Accounting Standards and Principles.
Achieving the following objectives are a requirement of your position:
- Accurate and timely processing of expense reports and accounts payable invoices thru our Concur and Costpoint systems
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries into accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
- Accurate and timely generation of weekly ACH vouchers
- Accurate and timely generation of manual check vouchers
- Assists with establishing, modifying, documenting, and coordinating implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
- Communicating with employees and vendors regarding any invoice or payment issues
- Assisting the Accounting Team with the day-today, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/ Finance Department including audits, budget review and analysis
- Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses
- Assists with filing and file maintenance
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting – Required
- Experience supporting government contractors – Desired.
- Experience utilizing Deltek CostPoint – Desired.
- Concur Accounting software experience – Desired.
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and resolutions.
- Good understanding of accounting theory
- Highly detail oriented, accurate and organized in work
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
