WHO WE ARE
Valley Care Community Consortium (VCCC) is a non-profit agency focused on improving the health of families and communities of Service Planning Area 2 (SPA 2- San Fernando Valley). Formed in 1995 by safety-net service providers, VCCC advocates for services that are accessible, affordable, and available to all regardless of their ability to pay.
VCCC serves as the principal convener of community health centers, community groups, faith-based institutions, mental and behavioral health organizations, public agencies, schools, and universities to improve health and wellbeing while also coordinating with other coalitions, networks, and groups working in the region. Today, VCCC is the leading health, mental health, and social service planning agency for residents of SPA 2.
VCCC’s mission is to improve the health of the residents in SPA 2 by leading a collaboration of public and private community partners to advocate, plan, assess needs, and facilitate development of effective programs and policies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Board President and Board of Directors, primary responsibilities for this position include fundraising, budgeting, implementation of program/project deliverables, strategic planning, and staff supervision including volunteers and interns.
The position is also responsible for developing, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with public and private community partners that helps to advance the mission, vision, and goals of the organization.
This Director has the experience to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups that includes community members, public agency partners, clinic and hospital staff, academic researchers, elected officials, and nonprofit partners.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Proven record of fundraising especially with grants and public/private funding opportunities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects
- Background in nonprofit management
- Experience supervising staff and volunteers/interns
- Proven experience in mobilization and management of coalitions
- Familiarity with Service Planning Area 2 - San Fernando Valley
EDUCATION
- BA/BS in health administration, public health or health related field.
- Four (4) years of related work experience.
- Minimum 3 years in a director or leadership position.
- Master’s degree preferred.
