What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Use Disorder Clinician position at Valley Cities Behavioral Health Care?

Position Summary:

Provide SUD assessments, individual, support groups, education groups, crisis services and relapse prevention.

Essential Job Functions (this is not the job description in its entirety):

  • Work with Managers/Supervisors to implement evidence-based COD practices and curriculum.
  • Perform appropriate assessment and referral of SUD clients.
  • Facilitate IOP/OP groups, in accordance with WAC’s and RCW’s
  • Facilitate relapse prevention groups, and aftercare groups in accordance with WAC’s and RCW’s.
  • Utilize Harm Reduction, SBIRT and Motivational Interviewing to engage clients in treatment.
  • Facilitate recovery planning with persons enrolled in SUD/COD programming
  • Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • AA Degree in Behavioral Sciences Field, BA desired
  • Washington State Substance Use Disorder Professional Certification

Other:

  • Current Driver’s License
  • Pass required background checks
  • Current Automotive insurance: If transporting people in personal vehicle.
  • Willing to work evenings
  • If recovering from alcohol/chemical dependency, have been in recovery for at least two years and be working a personal recovery program that is verifiable and documented at the time of hire.

Working Conditions

Work is performed inside and outside in varying temperatures. Work is conducted within the various Valley Cities’ sites and partner sites. Employee may occasionally be required to push or lift up to 25 pounds, twisting and stooping requiring upper and lower body strength. Employee may be exposed to office supply odors or vapors. Employee is sitting, most of the time. Employee is also required to stand, walk, type, bend, write, read, interpret and explain complex issues and speak on the telephone.

Pay: $25.11 - $29.87 per hour
