What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUD Clinician position at Valley Cities?

Provide Substance Use Disorder (SUD) assessments, individual, support groups, education groups, crisis services and relapse prevention. Provides treatment and case management services to clients who have a co-occurring disorder (mental health and chemical dependency diagnoses). Ensures a strong recovery, wellness, and hopeful environment for SUD clients.
Essential Job Functions: (This is not the job description in its entirety)
- Orients and educates clients and their families by meeting them in and out of the office; collaborating on the recovery plan; providing educational information in conjunction with direct service providers related to treatments, procedures, medications, and continuing service requirements.
- Assists SUD with group planning and facilitation, provides assessments, individual services and other substance use disorder services as necessary
- Provides Crisis Management Services.
- Participates in QI activities and participates in committees as assigned.
- Performs real world problem solving with the client, which may require the clinician to work in the office as well as in the community field to engage clients in services. This may include but is not limited to clients’ homes, hospitals, schools, and shelters.
- Advocates for the client with community, family, providers, landlords, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- SUD or SUDPT Certification through State of WA DOH.
- For SUDPT, Obtain Agency Affiliated Counselor registration within first week of hire
- BA/BS degree in human services field, preferred
- Must have ability to transport clients
- Experience in clinical and SUD work a plus
- Solid knowledge of the Recovery model.
- Pass required background checks.
