Job Description
EducationBachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology required
Master's degree preferred
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience as administrative laboratory director in moderate-to-large volume hospital-based laboratory required
Certification & Licensures
Medical Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent required
Qualifications
Knowledgeable of daily, monthly and annual laboratory budgeting, operations, financial monitoring.
Current knowledge of laboratory staffing for volume solutions, productivity assessment and integration of TJC patient safety goals required.
Current knowledge of and compliance with all laboratory CAP requirements.
Demonstrated competence in providing service to patients of all ages consistent with CAP and TJC patient safety standards.
Demonstrated excellence in communication and computer skills, both written and verbal, to lead a workgroup while setting the example for professionalism, data driven decision making, and up to date scientific knowledge for the delivery of consistent excellence in patient care.
Ability to support Corporate Laboratory Director, entity Vice Presidents and outside customers in quality systems management, development and retention of human resources, and all laboratory initiatives both intra and interdepartmental required.
