What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Scheduler position at Valley Medical?
This position is eligible for a $1000.00 signing bonus.
Job Overview: The Patient Scheduler is the primary individual who schedules appointments within Valley Medical and Wellness clinic and the Valley Medical Laboratory. They triage most inbound calls and assist in various customer service initiatives. This is a full-time or part time position which includes benefits as a Valley Medical and Wellness employee.
Primary Responsibility:
- Schedule existing and new patient appointments in a multi-clinic setting.
- Schedule Covid-19 testing appointments and ensure results are received.
- Assist/lead in projects to improve clinic/patient relations.
- Triage inbound calls.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
- Must have availability to work weekends.
- Limited driving to and from VMW locations or for marketing events.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Preferred at least 6 months experience in customer service role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel.
- Comfortable multi-tasking, working on phones >75% of the time, triaging patient calls.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous healthcare experience a plus.
- Customer service focused, computer competent, problem solving, critical thinking, clear written and spoken communication, good judgement, time management
Required Education, Experience and Credentials:
- Required Education: High school diploma or GED
- Preferred: Associates or Bachelors Degree
Additional Position Details: (hours, locations, commute)
- Position Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm or 9:00am - 5:30pm/9:30am - 6:00pm/10:00am - 6:30pm, rotating Saturdays
- Position located in Burnsville
- Ability to work on a holiday as part of a rotation and float to other VMW locations as needed.
