RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TEEN PROGRAM LEAD:
- Oversees a quality Teen Camp program, including but not limited to setting up field trips, guest speakers, art and other classes, tutoring, computer technology, service learning and more
- Assists in supervising, scheduling and evaluating staff and volunteers.
- Transport children on daily routes and weekly field trips.
- Orders supplies as needed.
- Develops positive relationships with participant and provides motivational support and guidance.
- Encourages member involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
- Monitors care and maintenance of all program facilities and equipment with particular concern for the health and safety of participants and ensures repairs are made as needed.
- Ensures attendance records, program reports, and other required administrative procedures are completed.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
- Conveys basic knowledge of all program areas to members and participants.
- Incorporates the mission, philosophy, and 4 core values of the YMCA in all communication with participants and co-workers.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A TEEN PROGRAM LEAD:
- 21 years of age or older
- Current state approved first aid certification
- Current CPR
- Minimum one year experience working with teens
- Knowledge and experience of teen programming including a demonstrated ability to work effectively with teens.
- Ability to communicate effectively with teens, staff, peers, volunteers and supervisor.
- Ability to effectively communicate information on Teen Programs.
- Knowledge of staff/volunteer supervision and program management preferred.
- Current Arizona driver’s license (NO CDL REQUIRED)
- Minimum of 3 years licensed driving experience
- A clear or acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that meets the YMCA standards
