What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contact Center Specialist position at ValleyStar Credit Union?
The Contact Center Specialist provides information to members concerning products and services by telephone, email, Message Center, CHAT and mail correspondence. The Contact Center Specialist supports the entire organization regarding member calls and is responsible for providing exemplary service to members in the areas of account transactions, loans, new accounts, electronic services, and general problem solving via various communication mediums, including phone, e-mail, online, mail and mobile.

Your day
- Serves membership by providing service and information in a pleasant, efficient manner by telephone and mail correspondence, including, but not limited to the following:
- Opening new deposit and loan accounts.
- Researching and solving member questions, problems, and complaints concerning accounts.
- Answering questions concerning Share Accounts, Share Draft, VISA, Certificates, Loans, Payroll Distributions, etc.
- Process wire, ACH, debit/credit transactions using payment processing tools.
- Process stop payments and unauthorized transactions for share drafts and ACH items on all accounts and adjust the account(s) as necessary.
- Process check orders and reorders.
- Trouble shot online/mobile banking issues for membership.
- Provide routine information about our services or policies, including eligibility for membership, insurance on loans, loan policies, interest rates, current dividend rates, locations, office hours and telephone numbers.
- Complete verification of deposit forms as received and retain a copy for records.
- Maintain complete and accurate records and files for audit purposes.
We need
- 2 years previous customer service experience, preferably in a call/contact center setting.
- Experience in the financial/banking field is preferred.
- Computer savvy; able to navigate between multiple systems and windows.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Office, and Excel.
