Assistant Director of Admission Outreach and Communications

The Assistant Director of Admission Outreach and Communications is responsible for helping to develop and advance the Office of Undergraduate Admission communication efforts, including market research, executing email strategy, creating content and copywriting, managing the office’s video communications, website updates, and tracking/reporting analytics. These efforts will work in collaboration with and in support of the office’s integrated communications strategy, requiring a strong ability to work well both individually and in teams to positively represent Valparaiso University. This position reports to the Director of Admission Outreach and Communications.

Major Responsibilities:

• Email copywriting that effectively communicates and builds affinity with prospective Valparaiso University students throughout the enrollment cycle
• Collaborates with partners across campus to develop content, share campus stories, and integrate messaging
• Manages Admission’s video messaging platform
• Utilizes Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite to create content visuals
• Assist with social media campaigns and day-to-day efforts for Instagram, TikTok, and ZeeMee platforms
• Analytics tracking and reporting

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• University degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communication, or related field
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to diverse audiences and identify their preferred communication.
• Strong writing skills.
• Proficient in the following software: Canva, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite
• At least 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred Knowledge:

• Knowledge of college admissions and recruitment practices.
• Knowledge and experience with Slate CRM technology
• Experience in HTML coding
• Knowledge of ZeeMee social media platform
• Proficiency in Spanish
