Value Tool & Engineering (VTE) is a premium tooling and parts supplier to the aerospace and defense industries. Due to rapid growth we are currently seeking experienced CNC Swiss Machinists. Primary responsibilities are to operate 3-, 4-, & 5-axis Citizen A-series, L-series, and/or M-series CNC Swiss-type turning centers. This position reports to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Independently set-up and operate CNC Swiss machines.
- Keep machines productive and running at all times.
- Load, unload, deburr, and inspect parts to ensure 100% conformance to print requirements.
- Produce conforming parts within allotted time to meet production scheduling requirements.
- Document daily inspection and production results.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- 2+ years’ experience operating CNC Swiss-type turning centers.
- 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably that makes close-tolerance parts or product for the aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with Mitsubishi and Fanuc controls.
- Ability to read and understand drawings (including GD&T callouts) and written work instructions.
- Proficiency with standard gauges and inspection tooling.
- Ability to select and change cutting tools & inserts for machining programs given part materials, part geometry, and process constraints.
- Good communication skills in English (both verbal & written).
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision and work effectively with management and other team members.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
