The Administrator is responsible for establishing, developing, planning and organizing facility operations, and for the oversight of the surgery center in its entirety. This highly visible and accountable role provides effective leadership and increases stakeholder value by operating in a fiscally responsible manner. Incorporating the organizational mission, vision and standards of behavior, the Administrator develops productive relationships and effectively communicates with internal staff, patients, providers and key partners to include Health Systems. The Administrator is responsible for developing plans and facilitating actions to improve patient outcomes and patient satisfaction, and for growing the business through same store and adjacent growth, recruitment and Value Based Care models.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field or business administration
- Minimum 5 years management experience in the health care industry
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center
- Proven and demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking skills required
- Experience or working knowledge of health care industry including but not limited to federal and state regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, patient care, revenue cycle, reimbursement methodologies, budgeting, public relations, physician relations, policy and procedure development, contract maintenance, inventory management, human resources
- Strong understanding of financial statements and the ability to present same
- Basic computer skills in MS Windows, Outlook and Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Essential Functions
- Oversee day-to-day hospital/surgery center operations and ensure that policies and procedures are followed.
- Supervise all hospital/surgery center personnel, providing leadership, direction, and guidance.
- Support the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the hospital/surgery center and the company’s values, mission statement and standards of behavior.
- Lead the Strategic Growth Initiative for the hospital/surgery center, using the Value Based Care model, including Same Store and adjacent growth, new physician recruitment and service line expansion.
- Coordinate, schedule and run facility board meetings, presenting financials and resolving board member inquiries. Complete meeting minutes and distribute to Board Members upon obtaining leader approval.
- Lead the local budget process and ensure fiscal responsibility throughout the facility.
- Approve and monitor legal resources, keeping leader informed of utilization.
- Partner with Corporate Human Resources to oversee facility human resources initiatives including but not limited to job description and competency creation, recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, disciplinary action and termination.
- Manage the facility Plans and Programs including but not limited to the Quality Plan, the Infection Prevention Plan and the 7 Environment of Care Plans and Programs and employee adherence to the programs.
- Work in partnership with leader to develop and implement revised and/or new procedures for the betterment of the facility.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable Federal, State, and local rules, laws, regulations, and guidelines and maintain compliance with the Facility’s accrediting body (i.e. DNV GL, TJC) as well as corporate mandates regarding quality of care and operational excellence.
- Review and complete the Operational Checklist on a monthly basis, to ensure survey preparedness as well as compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Able to anticipate the need for Performance Improvement initiatives and provide necessary expertise to implement and sustain the improvement.
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, internal staff, healthcare partners.
Physical Demands
Requires high-level visual and auditory acuity for participating in and monitoring patient care activities. Ability to move frequently throughout the Facility, ability to sit for long periods, occasional overhead and low reaching, demonstrates ability to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis and demonstrates ability to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis.
