Position Overview:
Responsible for continuously improving the overall supply chain, working closely with Production, Scheduling, Project Management, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Warehouse departments, as well as others. Positively impact company profitability through cost savings and buying the best quality materials, equipment, goods, and services at the most competitive rates.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders
- Establish and maintain working relationships with current and potential vendors
- Manage supplier performance and problem resolution. Champion Price, Delivery, Quality methodologies with suppliers
- Identify and implement integrated supply chain processes that deliver cost-effective solutions
- Accountable for ensuring that all suppliers acknowledge purchase order’s price and delivery terms within your area of responsibility Responsible for Purchase Price Variance (PPV)
- Ability to initiate and maintain cost reductions
- Track supplier performance using the Supplier Score Cards. Proactively initiate, review, and take corrective action to maintain supplier performance
- Evaluate and maintain company defined stock levels
- Responsible for inventory turns improvement
- Works closely with Project Managers to maintain on time delivery of their projects
- Accountable for rejected invoices and providing resolutions of all mismatched purchase orders in your area of responsibility
- Achieve company goals: Cash Flow, Profit and Customer Satisfaction
- Represent the Purchasing function and team with other departments and functions across the business for the best interests of the company
- Manage and reduce supplier non-conformances
- May perform other work-related functions as deemed necessary
- Ability to travel to 15% as needed
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite specifically MS Excel
- Experience with MRP / ERP systems
- Experience in value industry a plus
- CPIM certification a plus
Core Qualifications:
- 4-year College Degree or 2 years of related work experience
- Minimum of one year of experience in purchasing field
- Experience with sourcing materials and services related to a manufacturing environment including but not limited to castings forgings, bar, machining, welding, and coating
- Quantifiable success in cost reduction, supplier on time to promise, and customer on time to promise improvements
