The Regulatory Specialist will support organizational compliance with industry specifications, standards, regulations, and laws. Regulatory agencies include: FDA, USDA, OSHA, ISO, cGMP, HAACP, AAFCO, NASC, MSHA. This position will be instrumental in coordinating any Quality Management & Food Safety (QMFS) certifications which the company may desire to implement. This person should be enthusiastic, creative, informed, reliable, and a meticulous resource for the organization. This individual will be skilled at writing regulatory guidance, organizational Food Safety Plans, standard operating procedures, audits, and more. Not certified? Job Responsibilities:
- Works as part of a team to monitor the facility food safety plan as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI);
- Performs verification / validation of organizational preventive controls, critical control points, and risk prevention;
- Reviews, writes, controls lab reports, documentation of compliance-related processes, records, work instructions;
- Assists with internal audits, reporting, non-conformances, corrective actions, and follow up;
- Support quality in implementation and upkeep of the quality management system;
- Support quality with supplier verifications;
- Ensure all needed registration and licensing is in place;
- Perform compliance inspections of incoming materials prior to their use in production;
- Support the company with product certifications as needed (organic, non-GMO, etc.);
- Able to synthesize regulatory information and prepare training opportunities for employees as needed;
- Motivates others to understand, uphold, adhere, and implement compliance and quality initiatives as a mutual benefit;
- Persistent at creating a clear and positive approach to complex regulatory environment requirements and updates.
Other:
- Reviews quality and compliance projects and collaborates as needed
- Duties as assigned by leadership
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred. Nursing, laboratory, hospital, military, nutrition, government specialties a plus. American veterans and enlisted / reserve welcome to apply!

Job Type: Full-time, exempt
Salary: $44,000.00 - $47,500.00 per year (negotiable with experience)
