What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Vander Mill?
Vander Mill is looking for a Machine Operator to join our production team! A great opportunity to learn the cider making process with the potential to grow within the organization. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Operating, cleaning, and performing basic maintenance to packaging equipment
- Ensuring all cider is packaged according to Vander Mill quality standards
- Performing daily line setup, checklists, and packaging reports
- Focusing on maintaining canning line uptime, while ensuring that industry standard health and safety guidelines are considered first in all circumstances.
- Organizing all cider packaging materials, equipment, and workplaces
- Maintaining packaging line inventory
- Cleaning and filling kegs
- Communicating problems or obstacles to management in a timely manner
Requirements and Qualifications
- 2 years industry experience or similar
- Detail and procedure oriented
- Flexible to work overtime, when necessary
- Experience driving material handling equipment (Hi-Lo)
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repeated lifting
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers
- Minimum 18 years of age
