POSITION SUMMARY:
The Reporting Analyst I position exists to develop advanced reporting and analytic solutions that present information for decision-making opportunities as well as utilizing data from a variety of sources within and outside the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Meets with internal customers to develop project scope for dashboard or report requests.
- Creates visually appealing reports and dashboards that intuitively present information based off data gathered from internal and external customers.
- Designs, develops, tests, implements, and maintains analytic solutions leveraging centrally managed reporting tools, such as, Tableau and SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Works with end-users on self-service analytics including direct line support and training while providing a solid understanding of business needs.
- Completes special projects with a focus on idea generation, data analysis, dashboard design, and presentation.
- Provides an advanced understanding of development of collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintains a good understanding of business fundamentals including accounting and finance.
- Develops and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) for VMF Originations and Servicing.
- Stays up to date with latest trends in UX/UI and developments in the economy.
- Works with end-users on self-service analytics including direct line support and training.
- Manages project requests for ad hoc report and query creation or self-service guidance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year degree required, preferably in Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field.
- Must have at least 1-4 years of related experience.
- Must have working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, and basic visual design principles.
- Strong Excel knowledge required including financial formulas and pivot tables.
- Ability to understand query definitions and relational database structure.
- Possess analytical skills as well as abstract reasoning, strong math, and experience with Tableau, SSRS, or SSMS is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via phone, email, and person to person.
- Must be able to multi-task, work independently and manage time effectively.
- Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- 90% communication methods completed over the phone.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.
- Constantly works in an indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
