What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Technician I position at Vanguard EMS, Inc.?

The Facilities Technician I is responsible for working as part of a team in order to achieve and maintain a clean,

safe, productive, and organized work environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform interior and exterior building maintenance
  • Perform interior and exterior janitorial duties
  • Anticipate and respond to changing seasonal requirements
  • Provide supplies, furniture and other maintenance to production, engineering, and other departments
  • Participate in internal physical moves
  • Respond to facilities work requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Store, distribute and recycle paper and other supplies as needed
  • Assist with special material pick-up and deliveries
  • Provide support for special events or customer tours
  • Maintain ESD Floor Compliance via floor cleaning
  • What you’ll need:

  • Basic proficiency in computer systems (MS Widnows and Office) and basic mathematic knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage and prioritize activities to meet business demands
  • Able to work all needed hours including evenings, weekends, and on-call
  • Able to be at the Vanguard plant very quickly during emergencies
  • Good problem solving skills and communication skills
  • Good customer service skills and positive attitude
  • Ability to make judgments about facility requests and involve management when required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make productive use of time
  • Ability to make commitments and provide visibility of progress status
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • One year of facilities maintenance experience or equivalent
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Trade certification or licenses including Electrical, plumbing, Environmental or OSHA
  • Good driving record

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools

    or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and

    telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.
