JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all relevant health, safety, FDA, and environmental regulations. Support quality management team in the development and management of health and safety compliance programs while collaborating with internal departments driving the QHSE culture of the organization.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Monitor and advise on all QHSE matters, issues, and concerns to ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, Company and contractual requirements, and good industry practice.
  • Offer QHSE consultancy to the Company's subsidiaries and affiliates when required.
  • Maintain industry QHSE regulations and best practices and how they could be applied to the Company's operations.
  • Conduct QHSE training courses using internal and external resources when required.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Manage and monitor emergency procedures, signage, PPE, OSHA, etc.
  • Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting in implementing improvements.
  • Responsible for managing the relationship with QHSE auditors to acquire/maintain the Company's accreditations.
  • Responsible for the Company's QHSE processes and procedures to ensure the Company maintains its accreditations (ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, SFI/FSC, Food Safety)
  • Applies knowledge of GMPs, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Food Safety management system requirements to effectively support the companies' combined management system, performance objectives, and continual improvement activities.
  • Compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Able to initiate, recommend, or provide solutions to the Quality Manager, CIM, and/or other Management Members.

Evaluate problems and make recommendations for possible corrective/preventive actions to management.

  • Additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the role.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3 years of relevant related work experience in a related field or combined education and years of experience in a related field in environmental safety, occupational safety, and health or related field desired.
  • 3 years of experience in managing and implementing integrated management systems.
  • Experience with ISO processes, protocols, and compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail, demonstrated effective communication.
  • Experience using MS Office

Preferred

  • Experience in working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively across all levels within the company.
