Job Description:
As a Caregiver at Varco Home Health in our non-clinical caregiving role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our clients in their homes. Your duties will encompass a wide range of non-medical tasks, including personal care, homemaking, meal preparation, medication reminders, and companionship. This role requires empathy, dedication, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a nurturing and friendly environment.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Assist with housekeeping duties, including cleaning and organizing the client's home.
- Provide reminders for the clients' medication in accordance with client-specific care plans.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments or on outings, as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in the client's condition.
- Communicate effectively with clients and their families to ensure their comfort and well-being.

Requirements:
- Compassionate and Caring Nature: A genuine desire to help and support others, empathy, and a compassionate attitude towards clients and their needs.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
- Experience: At least one year of prior caregiving experience required (personal or professional)
- Background Checks: Ability to pass background checks and reference checks to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and the care team.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required to travel to client homes
- Flexibility: The ability to adapt to various client needs and schedules, as caregiving may involve varying hours and responsibilities.
Certifications and licensure
While not mandatory, having a First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
A CNA license is not mandatory; however, If you hold a CNA license, you are highly encouraged to apply as we have shifts in the Home Health and Hospice departments that become available when you hold this license.
