Compliance Intern

Opportunity:
- Work in a global fast-paced environment that invests in a diverse set of complex assets
- Assist the Compliance team with critical activities to fulfill Värde’s fiduciary obligations
Summary of Responsibilities:
Compliance
- Code of Ethics Program:
- Assist with the review of quarterly brokerage account statements
- Review employee trading exceptions
- Assist with new hire and annual certification process including recording breaches as needed
- Reconcile firm holdings and import needed updates
- Compliance Assessments:
- Review and update all compliance manual responsibility matrices
- Identify test steps related to responsibility changes made and make recommendations for revision
- Prepare data request lists and communications to internal stakeholders
- Perform compliance testing under guidance and identify potential issues
- Third Party Monitoring:
- Monitor the daily LexisNexis news feed
- Reconcile Asset Manager list to LexisNexis feed
- Assist with periodic due diligence questionnaire requests and review submissions
- Other Projects:
- Prepare employee data to create weekly import file Assist with other compliance projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing 4-year college degree in compliance, accounting, finance, or general business
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills. Ability to think big picture while still operating in detail-oriented environment
- Strong Excel skills
- Personal characteristics of self-confidence, resourcefulness, self-motivation, discipline, detail orientation and ability to assume responsibility for decisions and the ability to deal effectively with people in a variety of relationships and situations
- Excellent written & verbal communication
- The successful applicant for this position must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
