Compliance Intern

Opportunity:

  • Work in a global fast-paced environment that invests in a diverse set of complex assets
  • Assist the Compliance team with critical activities to fulfill Värde’s fiduciary obligations

Summary of Responsibilities:

Compliance

  • Code of Ethics Program:
    • Assist with the review of quarterly brokerage account statements
    • Review employee trading exceptions
    • Assist with new hire and annual certification process including recording breaches as needed
    • Reconcile firm holdings and import needed updates
  • Compliance Assessments:
    • Review and update all compliance manual responsibility matrices
    • Identify test steps related to responsibility changes made and make recommendations for revision
    • Prepare data request lists and communications to internal stakeholders
    • Perform compliance testing under guidance and identify potential issues
  • Third Party Monitoring:
    • Monitor the daily LexisNexis news feed
    • Reconcile Asset Manager list to LexisNexis feed
    • Assist with periodic due diligence questionnaire requests and review submissions
  • Other Projects:
    • Prepare employee data to create weekly import file Assist with other compliance projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing 4-year college degree in compliance, accounting, finance, or general business
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills. Ability to think big picture while still operating in detail-oriented environment
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Personal characteristics of self-confidence, resourcefulness, self-motivation, discipline, detail orientation and ability to assume responsibility for decisions and the ability to deal effectively with people in a variety of relationships and situations
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • The successful applicant for this position must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
