Varian software engineers develop next-generation cancer imaging solutions to power healthcare teams to have the right information in the right place at the right time. With Varian’s cancer imaging software, care teams make more confident decisions by transforming unconnected data into clinical knowledge. As a team member, you’ll push the boundaries in creating software to improve both the outcomes for patients and the quality of cancer care. Now, we want to help even more patients by expanding into Interventional Oncology and delivering modern, cloud native experiences. As a Software Engineer, you will meet with experts and end-users and determine novel approaches to each facet of development, from database to user interface. You’ll be exposed to numerous challenges as part of a small, but growing team, that defines and implements the next generation software solutions for Varian in the areas of imaging informatics, collaboration, cloud, and analytics. The position requires a broad background in computer science, the application of many different programming languages, a complete set of programming skills, intellectual flexibility, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Develop new products, features, and applications for imaging informatics in cancer therapy. Develop Industrial Internet type solutions on a variety of technologies and Platforms. Develop image processing algorithms and applications. Build systems and tools to test performance and qualify 3rd party components. Full stack development, write server- and client-side code. Collaborate with teams like UX , Product Management and Dev Ops to implement requirements and solutions This position is based in the Greater Atlanta area Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience Professional experience with an Object Oriented Programming Language Skilled in communicating and collaborating within a team Preferred Qualifications MA/MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent work experience). Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures. Strong understanding of object-oriented design and development. Strong C skills preferred, or experience in other systems and/or object-oriented programming language Background in Cyber Security risk assessment and solutions Fighting cancer calls for big ideas.
