:
- Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical).
- Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling.
- Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies. Secures appropriate certifications.
- Completes administrative duties, including managing incident reporting, permitting, developing training materials, updating documents, and maintaining chemical inventory.
- Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist.
- Oversees industrial hygiene, life safety, and ergonomic compliance-related activities.
- Interacts with others in the administration of the worker's compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions.
- Monitors industrial health compliance.
- Contributes to first-aid team, including facilitating meetings and drills, evacuation processes, and emergency response activities.
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
Typical Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Master's degree with 3 years of related experience.
- Prior work experience in a chemistry lab environment or understanding of chemicals a strong plus.
- 10-25% travel. Subject to change based on need.
- Ability to lift 20-25 lbs.
