Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy company, is seeking a talented Legal Assistant in St. Louis, Missouri, to provide support to our growing corporate legal team. The Legal Assistant will primarily assist with providing administrative/paralegal support for the entire team, following up with appropriate personnel to ensure deadlines are met, preparing materials and supporting documents in preparation for scheduled meetings, preparing and receiving of legal documents, and general administrative clerical work. The position will be based out of our corporate office in St. Louis, Missouri (Clayton).

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of administrative experience, preferably supporting legal staff, attorneys, or Chief Legal Officer
- Corporate, litigation, or employment experience is a plus, but not required
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and computer skills, and a high level of professionalism
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Technically savvy and capable of being productive using a variety of different software programs including Microsoft, Google, and Apple products, as well as other project management/tracking systems used by the legal department or company
- Experience/comfort with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; experience with Airtable a plus, but not required
- Ability to successfully perform position requirements with excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
- Bachelor's degree preferred; prior paralegal training and/or experience preferred (but path for advancement if it doesn’t currently exist)
- Ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks from multiple team members quickly, accurately, and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and under deadline pressure
- Diligent, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Ability to write clear, concise, and grammatically correct communications and correspondence
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to generally understand and interpret/analyze legal documents, terminology, and principles

Responsibilities:
- Provide high level support to our Chief Legal Officer, attorneys, and legal team
- Research, analyze, and draft various legal forms and documents
- Proactively demonstrate effective teamwork and communication with team members and all personnel
- Effectively engage and participate in video meetings to discuss current projects and workflow
- Coordinate and process communication, correspondence, and documentation with other members of the legal team
- Maintain and update databases and tracking systems
- Daily record-keeping with electronic filing of documents, mail, and calendar entries
- Identify and protect all oral and written communications
- Ability to assess the merits and respective risks and opportunities of unique situations with different approaches
- Develop information and obtain materials relevant to the objectives determined by the Legal Department
- Other administrative tasks as assigned by the legal team
