As part of a small, hardworking and accomplished team of specialists, you will be responsible for avionics controller hardware architecture for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of avionics engineering product development; architectural definition and hardware and software development (design and verification). You should be comfortable working in fast-paced and often uncertain environments, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating personal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail.
You will develop and certify specialized avionic embedded controller test equipment and instrumentation. Plan, develop and execute verification tests for flight qualified avionic embedded controllers; including board-level functional tests and product level acceptance and qualification tests. Collaborate with product development leaders to define and execute tests at the circuit, board, box and integrated subsystem levels; in avionics development labs, environmental test labs, radiation test labs and vendor test labs. You will help support team design reviews including test requirements and plans, procedures, schedules, etc., while working to continuously improve test team processes, procedures and standards.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of a B.S. in electrical, computer engineering or related field
- 5 years testing complex electronics using specialized electrical support equipment
- Passion for hands-on problem solving and avionics integration and test
- Ability to work independently on rapid development programs
- Ability to work on site in Kent, Washington
- Highly organized, safety and quality conscious, with excellent technical written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

- 7 years of integrated test experience (aircraft, launch vehicles, spacecraft, racing teams, etc.)
- Experience testing complex electronic systems combining hardware, firmware, and software
- Experience leading the development and testing of real-time embedded systems with a focus on modular and extensible architectures
- Experience developing and testing hardware to MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD,1540, SMC-S-016 and similar environmental standards
- Experience testing safety and mission-critical systems (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.) aligned with DO-254 or similar standards
- Proficiency with scripting; programming and analysis/modeling tools: Python, Linux/Windows shell scripting; assembly language, C, C ; MATLAB / Simulink / SPICE (or similar)
