What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Kennel position at VCA Animal Hospitals?
We are seeking an experienced Animal Care Supervisor to join our team.
The Animal Care Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the kennel department, training, coaching, and scheduling. In addition, they are responsible for monitoring the well-being of all pets in their care, ensuring adequate record keeping and monitoring of feeding schedules and medication administration is done in conjunction with hospital technical staff.
The Supervisor will ensure that laundry, bathing and other tasks are completed timely. They also work with staff to provide excellent customer service during drop off and pick up of all pets. The Supervisor will perform the same responsibilities as the other pet care specialists, and direct other projects within the hospital as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Prior Animal Care Experience
- Supervisory knowledge and skills
- Knowledge of dog and cat behaviors
- Animal care and handling experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Excellent typing skills
Qualifications
- Veterinary or Boarding facility experience
- Supervisory experience
