VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital and Referral Center is seeking a board certified or residency trained Surgeon to join our AAHA-accredited, multi-doctor ER/specialty/general practice in scenic Albuquerque, New Mexico.
We are eager to welcome a 3rd Surgeon to our thriving hospital! Compensation package will include competitive base salary as well as a full service relocation package and sign on bonus.
Located in the northeast heights of Albuquerque, the Sandia Mountains provide a picturesque backdrop to our professional home. Albuquerque’s high desert location provides 4 distinct seasons and mild temperatures year-round. Many of the city’s locals consider autumn as their favorite season of the year and during this time Albuquerque hosts the International Balloon Fiesta. The event draws tens of thousands worldwide every fall for a visual spectacle not to be replicated anywhere else. Our mild climate offers many opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, bike riding, skiing, and boating. Hungry? We have many local restaurants, breweries and wineries offering gastronomical experiences found nowhere else. veterinarians including full time General Practitioners, Emergency Doctors, and Interns.
Our generous referring community of veterinarians considers our hospital as the leader in veterinary surgery and specialty medicine in New Mexico. Our hospital boasts referrals coming in state-wide, and we are committed to keeping that trust and those relationships alive through quality medicine and facilities that those referring veterinarians demand.
Our sprawling, 22,000 sq. ft. facility features spacious work areas replete with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic tools. The facility possesses multiple treatment areas, a dedicated ICU with segregated spaces for feline patients, 2 spacious surgical suites, 9 exam rooms, a comfort room, private doctors’ offices, and a conference room with audiovisual capabilities. The Surgery department is equipped with a full complement of orthopedic systems, including IMEX linear/hybrid external fixators, ILN, Biomedtrix Universal THR, fully locking and non-locking plates (including SOP), and a GE OEC 9600 C-arm fluoroscopy unit. There is a strong soft tissue and oncologic surgery caseload and the service is well-equipped with instruments, including Endo-GIA roticulator staplers, Ligasure, ureteral stents, SUBs, and a NPWT system.
The architectural flow allows easy access to our Toshiba Aquilion Helical 128 slice CT scanner and two digital radiology suites. Our facility also possesses dedicated operating suites for ophthalmology, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. The internal medicine area has an ultrasound suite equipped with a GE Logic 10 ultrasound machine, endoscopy suite, and a dedicated chemotherapy room with hood. Our fully equipped and easily accessible in-house diagnostic laboratory is able to complete copious and timely accessions. We also offer Feline Radioactive Thyroid (I-131) Treatment and the General Practice that is connected to our hospitals is Fear- Free Certified.
