What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Enterprise Resource Planning position at VCU Health?
The Director ERP reports directly to the Vice President & CIO and operates as a key member of the IT Leadership team, coordinating closely with the ERP executive sponsors. The primary focus will be partnering with business, Integrator and IT teams to design and implement all ERP projects within the budgetary guidelines mutually agreed upon with executive management.
This position is accountable for collaborating broadly across operational groups to deliver Workday vendor, timely, transformational ERP solutions that improve VCUHS operations and converge on leading industry practices. Responsibilities include defining and managing the overall program and its work streams, exercising shared leadership with other leaders and staff, collaborating with technical and domain experts to solve ERP challenges; managing program budget, scope, risk, schedule, and especially stakeholder expectations. The Director ERP represents transformation vision and interests at all leadership levels.

Experience REQUIRED:
Five to ten (5-10) years of experience in a leadership position with a demonstrable career record of increasing levels of responsibility in a multi-entity, complex, and distributed environment.
Extensive experience supporting large complex transformation implementations.
Experience leading transformation teams, including recruiting, developing, mentoring, and providing support/resources and able to sustain morale and team productivity in challenging situations.
Experience in strategic planning and policy development.
Proven leadership, organizational, decision-making, problem solving, analytical and technical skills.
Experience in budget development and management and cost control
Evidence of collaborative and effective management skills.
Record of planning, and implementing large-scale projects involving a variety of technologies
Extensive experience working with senior and middle management in a leadership capacity with a strong leadership presence.
Rigorous project management experience that addresses life cycle management via iterative, user-experience driven design.
Track record of advancing enterprise harmonization through process optimization and convergence on leading practices, as well as applying systems thinking and integrative approaches to large-scale enterprise initiatives.
Experience PREFERRED:
Previous experience managing and working with a variety of platforms and system deployment in a heterogeneous environment using information technology to improve productivity, performance and delivery of service.
Previous work experience building and implementing integrated ERP systems and processes.
Previous experience in a healthcare environment; experience with matrix reporting relationship.
Education/training REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Healthcare or related degree from an accredited program.
Education/training PREFERRED:
Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Management or related degree from an accredited program.
