Job Description
Our government client is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer on a remote 12 months’ renewable contract opportunity in Indianapolis, IN.
Position: DevOps Engineer
Location: Indianapolis, IN.(Locals only)
Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
• Works closely with development teams to ensure that security gates, build automation and testing are being successfully implemented via the Pipeline.
• Work with the development team to build, deploy, and maintain software in cloud environments.
• Ensures that DevOps and DevSecOps best practices are incorporated into the pipeline, including automation, continuous testing, and continuous deployment.
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions for technology stacks and container orchestration platforms.
• Implement CI/CD solutions for a variety of web applications.
• Work with source control technologies and git flow strategy, including their connection to processes/pipelines.
• Prepare and perform builds in an Agile environment supporting a variety of on-site, private, public and hybrid deployments in support of test and production sites.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and technologies; recommend training topics as necessary.
• Work with product security to develop and implement security best practices.
• Automate cloud deployments using IaC (Azure)
• Provide guidance administrating Containerized Clusters such as Docker Compose, Kubernetes, other managed Kubernetes services.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to follow through to solve difficult problems using technical creativity and ingenuity.
• Work with Amazon Web Services and Azure Products & Services, Relational and NoSQL Databases, Object and Block Storage, Scaling, Load Balancing, DNS, Networking etc.
• Maintain document and diagram workflows and environments and communicate change both verbally and in writing.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to identify DevOps needs and deliver solutions.
• Enable teams to integrate and deploy code with CI/CD pipelines in a manner that is secure, reliable, and efficient.
• Create, build, and deploy Pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Enterprise.
• Design, build and evolve our production cloud infrastructure, employing automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
• Suggest architecture improvements and recommend process improvements.
• Use your knowledge of Azure to assist engineering in planning feature development. Qualifications:
• 6 years of experience in a lead DevOps role.
• Expert understanding of modern DevOps best practices and how to implement them using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Enterprise.
• Success in having provided technical leadership as a senior member of a DevOps and/or development team.
• Senior experience with one or more cloud infrastructure providers (preferably Azure).
• Senior experience building release pipelines (in Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Enterprise).
• Senior experience automating the provisioning of infrastructure .
• Production level experience with distributed applications at scale in cloud (/Azure)
• A senior working understanding of CI and CD tools (Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Enterprise).
• Senior experience building CI/CD with applications written in .NET and Angular.
• Senior cloud-based development and deployment experience with Azure ARM Templates
• Experience with Git and code review tools.
Desirable – nice to have
• Experience with containerization, Dockers and Kubernetes
• Senior experience with containerization and scaling containerization infrastructure with Kubernetes.
