Job Description: This sub family is responsible for performing the software engineering function, including the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products. Applies appropriate principles, standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development life cycle. Duties include software requirements analysis, analysis of hardware compatibility, development of software products and tools used for design, development and maintenance of infrastructure, and platforms. Impact: Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area. Typically, responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff. Complexity: Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution. Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge. Communication: Communicates with internal and client project team members. Works to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches. Leadership & Talent Management: Knowledge: Requires deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain and has broad understanding of other related specialty areas.
Typical Education & Experience: Typically requires BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Build and run enterprise Java applications across our DCPDS and DCHRMS environments; to include on-premises, virtual environments, and in private, public, and cloud.
Bring your SOAP, REST, XML, and PL/SQL skills to enhance and streamline the EXITS functions so that we may have a more efficient set of data and interfaces delivery capabilities for our DoD cloud implementation.
Build CI/CD based version control, automated builds, and release management that align with DoD and Oracle requirements.
Follow the DCHRMS delivery model.
Document the programs enterprise data delivery set of functions to include the strategy to better align to the DevSecOps integration and the high-level data flow, establishes an end-to-end data management/ technical architecture, integrates with the right tools (Jira, Jenkins, Selenium, ANSIBLE, GitLab, Docker, etc.), and provides corresponding roadmaps.
Must have Java, Oracle, PL/SQL - Jenkins Ci/CD
Nice to have:
Experience with Fortify would be a nice to have. Subset of Java, OJDBC would be nice to have also. knowledge/experience with version control, specifically Subversion as a plus
