Job Description
As a member of the Veeam IT global team, the IT Supervisor is responsible for managing local and remote teams that provide hardware and software desktop support for Veeam employees as well as mid-level systems management of servers and related back-end infrastructure. Position is on-site in our Columbus office with occasional remote option
Responsibilities:
- Maintains staff by working within the team structure; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Accomplishes Information Technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Provide installation, maintenance and end user support for desktop and laptop computers, servers, mobile devices and peripherals, network access, email, web, and server-based applications.
- Be able to safely install standard IT equipment in a datacenter rack, with assistance if needed.
- Create, maintain and disable user, computer and group objects, accounts, mailboxes and other resources as requested by Human Resources and department managers.·
- Maintain IT inventory including decommission, re-purposing and recycling of assets.
- Maintain IT software asset management and licensing for US and Americas.
- Maintain office equipment including the telephone system, copiers, faxes, supplies, outside services, mailings system, shipping system, etc.
- Develop documentation and automated solutions and scripts for IT policies and procedures.
- The ability to be “hands-on” with regard to our IT support is essential. This may include setting up computers, hanging cable, setting up workstations in the warehouse, etc. Some travel may be required.
- Be able to work occasional odd hours, such as nights and weekends; occasional travel required.
- Assist with helpdesk tickets and duties for the Americas region.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Be able to safely lift up to 75 pounds.
- Additional computer and data-related projects as requested.
Qualifications
- Have experience with one or more of the following: Microsoft Windows Server technologies, Microsoft Active Directory, VMware virtualization technologies, Microsoft virtualization technologies, PC & server hardware, storage systems and networking.
- Be comfortable presenting to internal technical teams, both in-person or via remote collaboration technologies.
- Be a self-starter with the ability to learn new technologies quickly with minimal instruction.
- Be able to learn a new product or technology via lab time, self-training and technical support resources.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where roles and responsibilities change quickly.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills for manuals, configuration guides and other technical content.
- Knowledge and understanding of computers, servers, databases, data manipulation, querying tools and reporting software
- Excellent computer skills (both hardware and software), including Microsoft Windows client and server platforms, Excel & other MS Office applications.
