Job Description
Title: Product Designer
Duration: 6 months (Extension)
Location: Louisville, KY (Remote)
Day-to-day responsibilities:
team is responsible for supporting exceptional user-centered digital experiences. As a part of the team, you will be involved in creating the digital design standards and design system that all design, user research, engineering, product and platform teams use to develop a wide range of digital experiences. Using your full range of interaction, UI, and prototyping skills, you will help create a consistent and predictable framework for all our digital products. You will be part of a team that ensures design quality across all facets of UI and interaction design, with a focus on integrating and developing best practices in usability, analytics, accessibility, and cross-platform strategy in an Agile development environment.
As the Product Designer, you will:
- Work with design leads and designers from every channel to create sustainable, reusable experiences
- Ensure that digital principles, standards, styles, design patterns, and renderings are followed and represented correctly
- Know the business and how to speak the business’ language
- Translate consumer insights into design strategies and execution that meet real user needs
- Communicate and collaborate with interaction designers, visual designers, content strategists, and copywriters to ensure alignment to design standards
- Partner with the research team to facilitate ongoing discovery and iterative delivery
- Partner with content strategy team to continuously drive and improve content, navigation and information architecture best practices
- Work with the EDS design leads to support a prioritized list of needed improvements and maintenance items
- Identify opportunities to stretch current or create new digital standards

Role Essentials
- 3-5 years of experience as a Product Designer, Information Architect, User Experience Designer, User Interface Designer, or Interaction Designer
- Experience working in design systems
- A portfolio that demonstrates systems thinking as a means to create compelling user experiences
- Strategic mindset with curiosity and determination
- Experience designing with business, technical and design constraints
- Experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to adapt existing processes and deliverables when necessary to meet project needs and improve efficiency and quality
- Demonstrated ability to design complex transactional user interfaces and interactions for web, mobile and cross channel experiences
- Create and update design system documentation and UI library components
- Evaluate and improve usability and accessibility of components
- Experience creating reusable, modular, dynamic, and componentized interaction patterns for a variety of operating systems, devices and platforms
- Experience creating conceptual models, site maps, interaction flows, design patterns, UI specifications, taxonomies and metadata frameworks
- Demonstrated experience in defining research criteria, participating in user research, and translating user research into design decisions
Role Desirables
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction or similar field; an advanced degree in human computer interaction, user interface design, human factors or design planning, is preferred
- Significant relevant work experience may substitute for an advanced degree
- Self-starter who can make significant progress with minimal guidance
- Experience creating accessible designs
- Ability to be flexible in a very fluid and dynamic environment
- Must be extremely well-organized and capable of handling multiple (and sometimes conflicting) priorities effectively
