Part of Dover Corporations Engineered Systems segment, Vehicle Service Group (VSG) is a strong, diverse and dynamic global leader in the vehicle service industry.

VSG comprises 13 major vehicle lifting, wheel service, diagnostic and collision repair brands : Rotary Lift®, Chief®, Forward®, Direct-Lift®, Ravaglioli, Hanmecson®, Revolution®, Elektron, Blitz, Nogra, Butler, Space and Sirio.

SUMMARY :

Responsible for the direct supervision of all production employees with a focus on safety, quality, implementation of world class manufacturing, and manpower scheduling.

Additional responsibilities include providing leadership and motivation to employees through active participation and direction of activities, while delivering fair, firm and consistent treatment to all employees.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE :

Safety - Responsible for the safety of the team members in their areas of responsibility. Reduce accidents by implementing prevention measures suggested by plant safety teams.

Conduct accident investigation and accident reporting. Assure all employees in their area of responsibility are trained on MSDS, Lockout / Tagout, Emergency Procedures and PPE.

Communicate medical surveillance matters with the Human Resource Department.

  • Lean Manufacturing Responsible for the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles in order to eliminate waste in the form of labor, floor space, downtime and poor quality.
  • Housekeeping - Insure that work areas and equipment are clean, orderly and maintained in a safe condition.
  • Quality - Directly responsible for product quality resolution in their areas of responsibility. Assure quality check sheets / work instructions are documented and being performed in their areas of responsibility.
  • Continuous Improvement - Responsible for identifying and reporting to the Value Stream Leader opportunities for process improvements.
  • Scheduling - Meet all schedules. Responsible for scheduling employee vacations, overtime, and training. Review time and attendance and insure accuracy of the time and attendance for all employees in their area of responsibility.

Responsible for recommending manpower requirements.

Communications - Communicate company policies and procedures and business matters to team members, management and other affected people.

Communicate employee status changes to the Human Resource Department.

  • Training - Assure training needs of employees are identified and met. Assure training records are completed and forwarded to the Human Resource Department.
  • Discipline - Assure conformance with company work rules, policies, and procedures. Issue warnings for violations and administer approved disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Develop goals and operating policies to support Vehicle Service Group goals.
  • Develop appropriate performance measures for the production employees.
  • Participate in physical inventories and the adjustment of record variations.
  • Ethics & Work Standards : Maintain the highest ethical and work standards, while promoting the same attributes in subordinates, business partners, and vendors.

Insure that all accounting-related business activities - with both internal and external customers - be performed with a professional demeanor and that all participants be held accountable to this high standard.

Communication : Expresses thoughts clearly, both orally and in writing, using good grammar. Presents concise, well organized reports.

Listens to understand input, feedback and concerns. Provides complete information in an open, honest, and straight-forward manner.

Responds promptly and positively to questions and requests.

Teamwork / Relationships : Works with other employees willingly and in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Supports cooperation.

Continual Improvement and Problem Resolution : Identifies and communicates suggestions for work improvements. Uses technical / analytical abilities to assure existing work practices are the most efficient and cost effective possible.

Applies a sense of urgency to resolve problems or create opportunities that will increase productivity and create value.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS :

  • Education : High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
  • Experience : Two years related experience in a manufacturing environment with a working knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.

Must have solid PC skills. Dedicated to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing. Experience with ISO9000 operating principles.

Responsibility : Exercise moderate degree of judgment. Work as leader, coach, and supporter in various team and product-related activities.
