What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Inspector position at VEKA South Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY:
Perform routine, repetitive inspection of extruded profiles using various testing and measuring equipment. Make acceptance/rejection decisions and tooling modification suggestions. Strive to aid the extrusion process to produce less scrap and allow zero defects to be committed to inventory.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Collect data and monitor samples according to Veka Standards.
- Evaluate extruded products to assist in developing Tooling Maintenance Requests (TMR).
- Define and communicate acceptable minimum quality level.
- Notify extrusion of substandard production and provide information to assist in correcting defect.
- Provide a zero defect product to our customer that meets or exceeds Veka Standards.
- Perform all AAMA 3O3 testing and documentation.
- Perform the following line checks; 3-Tier Dimensional Checks, Length Check, Surface Checks, Go Gauge Fit, Color Check, Weight Check, Bow Check, Impact Test and all other Quality checks not listed.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Product checks on existing inventory in Warehouse.
- Perform Quality Assurance checks prior to shipment.
- Quality checks in Post-Extrusion.
- Housekeeping
- All other duties as assigned by Veka Inc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Skill in math, accuracy and precision, good written and oral communication skills, works well under pressure, flexible, ability to use discretionary authority, good people skills, tactful and diplomatic. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate Degree in Science or Engineering related field or minimum 3 years quality experience and or science related experience.
