What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extrusion Team Lead position at VEKA?
Job Description
Responsible for overseeing the operation of the assigned production machine group according to established VEKA standards.
*This is a Night shift. There will be a $2 shift differential between the hours of 7p-7a.*
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the safe operation of the assigned production machine group.
- Collectively (with other Group Leaders) oversees the safe operation of the entire production floor on off-shifts and weekends.
- Executes the production schedule.
- Provides supervision and direction to operators and packers assigned to the machine group.
- Provides technical support to operators, packers and inspectors.
- Periodically performs line checks and communicates with Quality Assurance on any issues.
- Follows company procedures and enforces company regulations.
- Coordinates with the Compounding Department to ensure material is available for extrusion.
- Reports breakdowns and equipment problems to the Shift Maintenance crew and tracks repairs.
- Works with Quality Assurance Department to resolve quality issues.
- Directs housekeeping efforts to maintain work area clean and hazard free.
- Enforces material packaging standards and scrap segregation requirements.
- Monitors security system.
- Receives and directs in-coming phone calls during non-business hours.
- Performs routine administrative duties.
- Troubleshoots tooling, machine problems, and provide feedback to Production Superintendent.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as extrusion operator
Organizational Relationship:
- Reports directly to Superintendent
We are looking to add a lead position to both night shifts here at West, Team B & Team D. There is also a shift differential that can be considered. It is a rotating schedule on solid graveyard.
