RESPONSIBILITIES

• Regularly collaborate with property management staff and corporate staff on all aspects of accounting
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations, complete analytical review for reasonableness
• Calculate management fees and post late fees monthly
• Journal entry processing, including reclasses, recurring entries and other monthly/annual transactions
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing
• Backup for accounts receivable and accounts payable, work with property management staff to correct errors or provide missing information
• Responsible for regular review and analysis of tenant ledgers, including subledgers and corresponding reconciliations with property management staff
• Review deposit accounting for accuracy
• Bad debt write-offs
• Assist with reports for year-end audits and provide requested information in a timely manner
• Other accounting related tasks as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar field and/or 2 years of work experience in a similar field with knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
• Prior experience with Yardi or property management industry highly preferred
• Heightened level of attention to detail
• Organized and strong time-management skills with the ability to regularly shift priorities as needed
• Able to multi-task, meet deadlines and work independently
• Strong communication skills for regular coordination with site and corporate staff
