What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Safety Engineer position at Velocity Works, LLC?
We're looking for a Product Safety Engineer!
In this role you will work on safety activities to develop and carry out assessments, tests, and experiments to gauge the safety levels of surface pedestal drills and drive safety goals. You'll ensure compliance with directives, established industry safety and design standards and guidelines. You will participate in purchasing, manufacturing, designing and reconstruction of production equipment and products and service solutions.
Responsibilities
- Review new and changed legislation, directives, standards as well as major stakeholder requirements, make interpretations as needed, create policies, and transform the results into clear requirements.
- Advise and assist Projects, Engineering, and other stakeholders in certification issues, such as CE declarations and certificates.
- Responsible for making sure guidelines, standards and instructions are followed regarding purchasing, manufacturing, design and reconstruction of production equipment and products.
- Define requirements for suppliers to assure guidelines and standards are met.
- Audit of manufacturer and suppliers’ knowledge, experience and track record regarding applicable directives and standards, internally and externally.
- Verification of quality of marking and certification.
Requirements
- Bachelors in safety engineering or relevant field
- 5 years working experience
- Product safety experience
- Product use and precautionary label experience
