Position Description
The Director, Supply Planning is responsible for operations planning (planning, purchasing, and scheduling) for clinical supply, raw materials, components, CMO manufacturing services, supplies, finished goods, and related materials and executing against that operational plan. This includes responsibility for developing the materials requirement plan, inventory policy, and operational schedules for our supply chain by developing appropriate tools to meet Venatorx’s customer service levels. This role will manage our CMO operational, manufacturing, and logistical plans while driving continuous improvement and business results through the use of data analysis and supply chain innovation.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Operational plan owner (Plan, Schedule and Purchase) raw materials, CMO manufacturing services through order fulfillment
Provides and recommends data and final supply plans
Develops the materials requirement plan, inventory policy and operational schedules for our supply chain partners
Scenario planning of operational plans to meet product demand, production capacity, schedules, inventory and determines the impact of forecast changes on scheduling and cost.
Manage CMO operational, manufacturing and logistical plans while driving continuous improvement and business results
Develops and manages appropriate tools (planning and inventory management) with collaborative solutions in place for all CMOs to meet Venatorx’s customer service levels.
Optimizes and allocates raw material, intermediate and finished goods inventory between contract manufacturers, distribution centers and/or US and international markets
Analyzes data and trends and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet schedules
Plans required materials and logistical movements through Venatorx’s supply chain network
Follows up on orders placed, verifies delivery, resolves payment issues and maintains necessary records or material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory cycle(s)
Maintains supply chain metrics for supply operations. Reviews trends and determines root cause and corrective action plans to drive continuous improvement.
Work within Clinical, the supply operations team and suppliers to manage shipments and transportation of intermediates and finished goods in an efficient process.
Establish and manage tactical relationships and transactions with all supply chain partners
Qualifications
Candidate requirements:
BA/BS degree is required; an Advanced degree (MBA) is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of overall experience with 5 years of operations planning experience in pharmaceuticals, biologics, or bio-pharmaceutical industries
At least 3 years of experience planning virtual supply chains including business processes know-how relevant to the supply of commercial pharmaceutical materials
Ability to work collaboratively in a small company structure.
Effective communicator with strong collaboration skills across functional, geographical and cultural boundaries
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and to travel, as required, in interacting with CMOs and suppliers - travel outside of the U.S. will be required
Knowledgeable of cGMPs and other relevant regulations in US and globally
Proficiency in planning, monitoring and problem solving
Bias for action and display a sense of urgency

Technology needs: Microsoft Office, Procure to pay systems know-how; Operational planning systems know-how (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Travel requirements (%): 10-30%
