Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM- 3:30PM  


Reports To: Production Manager/Supervisor 


Travel: No travel is expected for this position 


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 


Supervisory: No Supervisory Responsibilities 


Department: Production/Edgebanding 


Location: Newport, NC 




Summary: Packaging 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify that orders for finished veneer products are correct and pass a quality control inspection to ensure correct item, count, and quality for the Customer.
  • Maintain correct inventory counts in a computer software system and print the correct/corresponding product stickers
  • Responsible for correct package weight and PO number for each box/package.
  • Use Correct boxes and packaging for each finished veneer item to be shipped.
  • Responsible for continuously entering data into a computer software system. 
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules and regulations. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Must be proficient with the use of a computer
  • Work effectively, with limited supervision. 
  • Must be conscientious and have strong attention to detail  
  • Reliable and regular attendance is required 
  • Communicate and perform effectively, both independently and in a team environment. 
  • Willingness to learn 
  • Time management skills 

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: 

Previous experience working in a retail shipping environment, or warehouse is highly preferred

High school diploma or GED. 


Language Ability: 

Ability to speak, read and understand English. Ability to communicate effectively with managers and employees. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 


Math Ability: 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. 


Reasoning Ability:  

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 


Computer Skills:  


Basic computer skills are required

Must be able to type without assistance
