Job Description:

This is a 10-week summer internship position with our Finance team leading several special projects. The Intern will have the opportunity to gain real estate experience and develop his/her accounting and financial analysis skills by joining Ventas’s lean, fast-paced group. Specifically, the Intern will create and manage the implementation of actionable management reports and tools for internal teams.  The reports/tools will link actual performance with strategy and operational plans while driving accountability at the appropriate levels of management.  While prior real estate or healthcare experience is not required, it is expected that candidates are smart, humble, and anxious to learn, work hard and contribute to team success.

The Intern will generally be responsible for:

• Collaborating across functions to create monthly reports
• Ensuring strategic and operational plans are appropriately reflected in the monthly reports
• Incorporating relevant business drivers and/or industry benchmarking analysis to better understand relative performance
• Streamlining the process by which the data is aggregated including implementing any necessary controls
• Maintaining data integrity by liaising with Accounting
• Completing other special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled junior at a four-year accredited college or university in a relevant course of study or MBA program graduating in 2021 with a minimum GPA of 3.5
• Successful completion of several finance, economics, or accounting courses
• Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint, is required
• Familiarity with financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows)
• Ability to work with many deadlines and manage multiple tasks and relationships within a fast-paced, team-oriented and lean environment
• Confident self-starter and quick learner who requires minimal supervision, is comfortable with ambiguity and is adaptable
• Strong quantitative skills as well as written and oral communication skills 
• Must be able to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during Summer 2020
