Hourly Rate: $24.11| $25.46 after 90 day probation (Overtime and weekends may be required)
Shift: Flex Shift
Differential 2nd Shift $0.40 hour | 3rd Shift $0.50 hour
JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the CIP operator is to ensure the plant’s internal production equipment, process piping, tanks and silos are clean, sanitary and inspection ready at all times. The CIP Operator is in charge of maintaining chemicals throughout the facility and performing other tasks to ensure the sanitation of the facility and equipment as assigned.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
- Perform cleaning of equipment, floors, and walls.
- Perform swabs tests and titrations as needed
- Maintain all pertinent records, reports and other paperwork as needed, including daily chemical concentration form, Master sanitation Schedule, daily CIP circuit sheet, CIP problems report and other cleaning verification logs.
- Calculate chemical doses and make necessary adjustments.
- Adhere to and perform tasks related to the master sanitation.
- Maintain the COP tanks throughout the facility, including clean and sanitary water and rinsing down the tank exterior.
- Replenish sanitation tools as needed throughout the facility
- Maintain Tanks including but not limited to: Rinse off tank door, rinse off tank exteriors, rinse and clean all fill tubes and place in COP tank.
- Assist in the training of all new sanitation employees.
- Monitor sanitary conditions of general facility including but not limited to: Wash down floors, tank alcoves, flow panels, processing equipment with product build up. Recharge hand dip, jumpers and gaskets sanitizer. Replenish gaskets required at every working area as needed. End cap all lines, flow panels, tanks, and equipment when not in use. Maintain all working areas clean including sweeping floors, and removing trash. Perform all janitorial job duties as needed.
- Follow all safety policies and practices including wearing all PPE including PPE associated with chemical handling.
- Performs regularly scheduled Master Sanitation work on lines, valves, pumps.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Considerable knowledge of CIP systems and function.
- Considerable knowledge of CIP quality and circuit parameters.
- Considerable knowledge of Food Processing Operation and some technical regulations.
- Ability to perform accurate calculations including basic chemical titration and cycle step times.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrate technical expertise and competency in the operation of all cleaning systems, tasks, and procedures.
- Operate equipment safely and report any unsafe work condition or practice to supervisor.
- Ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner.
- Ability to work on an aerial lift in a safe manner
- High School graduate or equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a consistent basis.
- Standing on plant work surface up to 80% of the time in a juice plant environment
- Sitting on and operating a forklift or aerial lift up to 20% of the time in a juice plant environment.
