About The Role

As a Business Analyst 1, your focus is on gaining a general understanding and practical knowledge of business line functions and roadmaps to proactively find solutions to meet the business line objectives. Under the direction of the AVP, Technology & Projects and in collaboration with the senior Business Analysts, you will assist in translating initiatives into action plans with required deliverables.

This position is on-premise and based at our headquarters office in Ventura, CA. Employees at VCCU uphold our Shared Values and work onsite for the best benefit of our membership and community partners.  

What You’ll Do

• Business Analysis: Assists in data collection, documentation, and basic analysis tasks. Developing and documenting Scrum process epics, features, user stories, and high-level process maps. Supports the business lines and IT partners in building lean business cases.
• Project Management: Demonstrating an understanding of basic project lifecycle phases and how business analysis tasks fit within this framework. 
• Requirements Analysis: Assists in eliciting, analyzing, and validating business and solution requirements.
• Solution Evaluation:  Practice solution evaluation principles, understanding the technical aspects of solutions proposed and how they meet business needs.
• Testing:  Exhibiting general awareness of testing methodologies. While you will not be building test plans or executing detailed test cases, you will support the application testing, piloting, and implementation process under guidance from more experienced team members. 

What We’re Seeking

• 1-3 years of strong financial services experience, including directly working with lending and/or deposit operations platforms and processes.
• Strong domain knowledge of the assets and liabilities side of credit union business operations.

• Proficient in use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio or similar.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

What Will Make You Stand Out

• General knowledge of user stories and use case tools, such as JIRA. 
• Knowledge of software languages that pertain to network and server operating systems.
• Ability to write routine reports, procedure manuals or guides, and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to staff, top management, business stakeholders, and external partners.
