SUMMARY:
As Managing Editor you will oversee Venveo’s content team and operations. This role ensures high quality production of content for several different marketing channels for all Venveo clients. This position is the gatekeeper for quality; oversight of writing/editing copy, articles, social media posts, email marketing content, landing pages, reports, thought leadership presentations, and more.
This role will also have a high level of collaboration with the internal marketing team, under the direction of the CEO. We expect excellent organizational and leadership skills as well as a unique problem-solving ability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures consistent quality on all content produced by Venveo.
- Elevate the content our writers create to align with client voice, tone and goals
- Understand the products, services and offerings of our clients and edit content accordingly to ensure accuracy
- Understand big-picture trends and the unique challenges of Venveo clients.
- Build a deep understanding of brand strategy for each client, applying it to everything you create.
- Edit articles marketing emails, landing pages, social media, presentations, thought leadership and more for grammar, spelling and web writing best practices.
- Ensure content is crafted to impact target audience, goals, brand guidelines and other criteria.
- Manage, revise and edit content crafted by our freelance contributors based on client feedback.
- Work closely with account strategists and managers, project managers, designers and other team members to establish and maintain content quality standards.
- Research various online channels for subjects and trending news stories.
- Ensure that content initiatives and campaign progress is communicated with clients, including development, analytics, and results.
- Have a firm grasp on writing and editorial skills.
- Edit web copy for the purposes of marketing websites in diverse verticals.
- Write needed articles, landing pages etc. for quick turnaround projects as-needed
- Manage and elevate the content team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university.
- An impressive online portfolio showcasing content marketing and/or editorial skills.
- 5 years of experience writing marketing copy that persuades and sells.
- A guru writer with a laser eye. Producing edited content without typos or grammatical errors.
- Established drive to elevate content that captures the audience of our clients and converts them to devoted purchasers.
- The pressure will be on and a strong positive attitude with be non-negotiable.

- Professional and a clear communicator of ideas.
- Self-motivator that takes joy in organization.
- Native English speaking and writing skills.

- You should have experience in email marketing or conversion rate optimization.
EXPERIENCE:
- Basic SEO knowledge.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and the Google Doc tool suite.
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS, with an eye for good web design.
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and best practices for social media copy
- Experience working with multiple clients, voices, goals and brand personas at once
- Experience working in an agency environment
